Splash & Dash for the Ocean!

Get ready to lace up your sneakers and join Georgia Aquarium’s 5K Walk/Run, returning for its eighth exciting year! This Peachtree Qualifier 3.1-mile course takes participants on a quick “out and back” journey through some of downtown Atlanta’s most iconic landmarks. Open to ages 8 and up, it’s perfect for runners, joggers, and walkers of all levels.

Whether you’re tackling your first 5K, training for the Peachtree Road Race, or just looking to stay active, every step you take supports aquatic animal conservation—plus, with our virtual option, you can participate from anywhere and make an impact for the ocean, even from your own neighborhood.

Every stride helps fund Georgia Aquarium’s research and conservation efforts locally and globally. Together, we can deepen our understanding of marine life and work to protect ocean animals for future generations.

    Time: 8:00am on 03/08 – 11:59pm on 04/13

    Location: You can complete your 3.1 miles anywhere you’d like and at your own pace. Treadmill, the park, on the beach, it’s your choice.

Race Information

In-Person Race Information

  • Time & Date: Our in-person race takes place at Georgia Aquarium in downtown Atlanta, and starts on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 8:00am. You’ll be treated to an out-and-back 3.1-mile Peachtree Qualifier course through the streets of downtown.
  • Parking: Parking is available for $5 at Georgia Aquarium’s parking deck on the morning of the 5K. Please use 246 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd NW on your navigation apps. Participants parking at the Coca-Cola parking deck will be charged a full parking fee.
  • Participant Packet Pick Up: Packet Pickup information will be available soon.

Virtual Race Information

  • Time & Date: Participants choosing a virtual race can participate anywhere they’d like and at their own pace! Whether those 3.1 miles are in your neighborhood, in a park, on a shoreline, or even a treadmill, simply submit your results on our site and enjoy bragging rights of helping our oceans.
  • Virtual Packet Delivery: For virtual participants outside the metro area or those unable to attend packet pick-up, your race packets will be mailed via USPS starting the week after the in-person event.
