The state of Georgia has 52 major watersheds that all lead to the ocean. These watersheds begin and travel through some of the most beautiful places in Georgia, from The Blue Ridge Mountains all the way to Gray’s Reef off the Eastern coast. The workshop begins in Atlanta to learn about water in your homes. The group will then set off to follow the Altamaha River watershed. Educators will come to investigate, discover and create connections between inland rivers and offshore habitats to then bring all that they have learned into their classroom curriculum.
During this professional development workshop, you will be learning from your fellow participants, GA Aquarium staff and experts at local sites. Kennesaw State University Faculty will also join in providing aspects of the professional development and will be involved in program evaluation and research.
