Explore the secrets of the Georgia Aquarium! Discover some of our most popular exhibits from a view that only a Behind the Scenes tour can give you! Get closer to the stars of the Aquarium (our animals) and learn about what it takes to keep the world’s largest aquarium running.
Tour Details
Times: Sea Keepers: Every half hour from noon until one hour before closing. Ages 10 and above only.
Family Tour: 4 p.m. Mon.-Fri., 11 a.m. Sat-Sun. Family tour is designed for families with children ages 5 and above. Please sign up for a Sea Keepers tour if everyone in your party is older than 10.
Cost: $50.00 per person over general admission, $25.00 for Annual Pass members
Tour length: 1 hour
Meeting place: 2nd level in front of Deepo 4D Theater.
No high heels allowed on the tour.
Sea Keepers
Learn about aquatic care from beluga whales to whale sharks. This tour is for ages 10 through adult.
- Explore the tropical waters and the mangroves at the top of the Tropical Diver exhibit.
- Learn how we care and feed our animals by visiting the commissary and veterinary clinic.
- View the top of the beluga whale exhibit.
- Discover the top of the largest ocean exhibit in North America (Ocean Voyager), and observe the world’s largest fish, the whale shark, as it swims below you.
Family Behind the Scenes Tours
Family Behind the Scenes Tour is offered for ages 5 through adult. This tour is not recommended for adults unless accompanied by a child.
- Explore the tropical waters and the mangroves at the top of the Tropical Diver exhibit.
- View the top of the beluga whale exhibit.
- Discover the top of the largest ocean exhibit in North America (Ocean Voyager), and observe the world’s largest fish, the whale shark, as it swims below you.
- Tour includes fun family activities with bio-facts (like shark jaws) and games that will help you discover amazing aquatic animals and how we care for them.
General Information
All participants will meet on the second floor in front of the 4D Theater. A Behind-the-Scenes Tour sign will identify the tour guide. The tour guide will arrive 15 minutes before the tour start time. All tours leave on time. Guests arriving up to 10 minutes late will be escorted to join the rest of the tour already in progress. No refunds will be issued for missing part or all of a tour.
- Sea Keepers tour is offered for ages 10 through adult.
- All tours can be booked by individuals or by a group.
- No high heels allowed on the tour.
- Tours will not exceed 15 people.
- Payment in full required at the time of booking. Booking can be made by calling the Georgia Aquarium call center at 404-581-4444 or at the ticket window.
- There are no refunds for no-shows.
- Date changes must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled time of the tour.
- All tours are subject to change due to medical procedures or other unforeseen circumstances.
- Family tours are offered for families with young children ages five and up.
