Georgia Aquarium's Jazz Journeys Returns for a Fifth Year
Features gourmet dining, specialty bar and celebrated jazz artists
Atlanta (May 13, 2011) –
Due to popular demand, Georgia Aquarium continues its summer concert series, Jazz Journeys, a showcase of musical artists each Friday night, running from May through September, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Guests are invited to cool off with a cocktail and enjoy fine cuisine as they explore the sights of Georgia Aquarium and listen to the smooth sounds of jazz performed by renowned musicians from along the East Coast. Each month’s performances will focus on different themes including blues, swing, Latin and jazz.
New bands will join old favorites in the Jazz Journeys lineup this year. Musicians include Ken Ford, The Usual Suspects, Glen Gordon, Francine Reed, Sharon Rae North, Jeffery Sparks, Kathleen Bertrand, Orchestra MaCuba and many more. These celebrated artists have performed amongst world-famous artists such as Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and Alicia Keys, to name a few.
Jazz Journeys is complemented with cash bar drink specials and an exclusive Jazz Bites menu featuring three gourmet packages specially created by Wolfgang Puck Catering. Guests will relax in special VIP seating as they dine and enjoy the world’s largest aquarium in style. All Jazz Bites packages serve two people and include recyclable dinnerware set at reserved VIP seating located near the band. Jazz Bites packages are separate from Aquarium admission and should be booked in advance online.
Jazz Journeys is included with the purchase of Friday general admission tickets. Guests admitted prior to 7 p.m. are welcome to stay and enjoy the performance. Annual Pass Members receive free admission.
