Georgia Aquarium Whale Shark Expedition
Join Georgia Aquarium on its first whale shark expedition to the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico! From August 7-12, 2008, the Aquarium will take an intimate group of ten individuals on a relaxing trip to Mexico for an exclusive opportunity to see Georgia Aquarium researchers at work and enjoy special animal encounters. We want you to come along!

Since 2004, a team of Georgia Aquarium researchers have been working off the coast of Mexico to study whale sharks as part of Project Domino, a collaboration of Mote Marine Laboratory, Georgia Aquarium and Mexican researchers. Now, four years since the project began, we invite you to join us on our first whale shark expedition.

Our experience will begin right here in Atlanta as you’re given the opportunity to swim or SCUBA dive in the largest exhibit at Georgia Aquarium and talk to staff about current research initiatives. The adventure will continue in Mexico as we travel to Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Chiquilla, Isla Holbox and the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This rare opportunity will include a dolphin encounter, snorkeling, boat tours, five-star accommodations, opportunities to explore Mexican towns and the highlight of the trip: a chance to observe both whale sharks and our researchers in the field.
